Do You Have Facebook Privacy Concerns?

You Shouldn’t. It’s Not As Bad As You Think

I believe if you can’t do something better or add to the original in a meaningful way then you probably shouldn’t do it.

That’s how I feel about this blog post from SmallBizTrends

My TL;DR (too long; didn’t read) version of this is:

  • Facebook isn’t trying to big brother you, they just want to make money and connect the world.
  • Facebook is bad at PR releases and explaining their app permissions mostly because Android has weird requirements.
  • Don’t be afraid of Facebook (or any social media in general). It’s just humans interacting with other humans. Inform yourself by either reading the Privacy Agreement directly or getting the synopsis like this post. Handle the Internet and your technology this way and you’ll be golden.
